Surfer Stance

Surfer stance defines the body’s orientation, balance, and weight distribution on the surfboard. It determines how efficiently the surfer transfers energy into drive, control, and maneuver execution. An effective stance aligns the center of gravity over the board’s volume and rails, keeping the body compact yet dynamic to adjust through changing wave sections. Shapers refine stance compatibility indirectly through entry rocker, rail volume, and deck contour — ensuring the board responds intuitively to front-foot or back-foot pressure and maintains stability under speed or rotation.
