Resin Pulling

Resin pulling is the technique of drawing excess resin across the laminate using controlled squeegee pressure and directional strokes to achieve a clean, efficient fibre-to-resin ratio.
The goal is to remove surplus resin, air pockets and surface pooling while keeping the cloth fully saturated without displacement or weave distortion.
Resin pulling quality depends on resin viscosity, fiber weight and weave, squeegee technique, and laminate stability during wet-out. This technique directly influences laminate clarity, lap-wrap tightening, structural uniformity and final board weight.
Shapers and laminators refine resin pulling through tuned pressure, stroke patterns and construction choices that maintain responsiveness, feedback and control.
