Resin Flow Control

Resin flow control refers to the techniques used to guide, distribute and regulate resin movement across the fiberglass cloth during surfboard lamination. Proper flow control ensures uniform saturation, reduced pooling, clean lap edges and optimal fibre-to-resin ratios.
Resin behaviour depends on resin viscosity, fiber architecture, laminate angle and the timing of resin application. Flow control also influences the wet-out stage, lap-wrap execution and overall laminate consolidation.
Shapers and laminators refine resin flow control through tuned squeegee pressure, resin distribution patterns and construction choices that maintain responsiveness, feedback and control.
