Onshore Wind

Onshore wind blows from the water toward the land, moving nearly perpendicular to the coastline or wave face. This wind increases surface chop and disrupts flow release and edge-hold, often reducing drive and causing early fatigue. Boards must work harder against the wind-driven surface turbulence, reducing glide and increasing energy loss.
Shapers design for onshore conditions by enhancing bottom curvature and rail sharpness to maintain control and rideable speed in chaotic surf.
