Boards
available for testing
Try out selected Blue Room models.
Choose the type of
board you want to try out
Explore the available categories and start with the type of board that best suits your surfing, your level and the waves you usually surf.
How the test works
The process is simple: choose your board, book your test day, try it in real conditions and decide with greater confidence whether it’s the right model for your surfing.
01
Choose your board
Take a look at the models available for trial and choose the board you’d like to try out.
If you’re not sure which one’s best for you, the Blue Room team can help you choose based on your ability, weight, height and the type of waves you usually surf.
02
Book the day
Please let us know your preferred date and we’ll check whether the board is available.
We can also suggest alternatives if the model you’ve chosen isn’t available on that day.
03
Test under real-world conditions
Take the board out into the water and feel how it glides, catches the wave, picks up speed, turns and responds to your surfing.
The difference between boards isn’t always apparent from the specs. Often, you only realise it when you ride them.
04
Shop with
greater confidence
After the trial, you’ll have a clearer idea of whether that board is right for you.
On selected models, part of the trial fee may be deducted from a future purchase.
Why trying it out before
you buy makes all the difference
Buying a new surfboard is an important decision.
Dimensions, volume and photos help, but they don’t show you everything you’ll experience out on the water.
Volume doesn’t
tell the whole story
Two boards with similar volumes can perform in completely different ways.
One might be better for paddling.
Another might pick up speed more quickly.
Another might make turning easier.
Another might simply not suit your surfing style.
Every detail
changes the feel
A surfboard’s performance depends on several factors:
- outline; rocker; rails; tail;
- construction; flex; fins;
- volume distribution;
- wave type; surfing style
That’s why a surfboard might look perfect on paper but not perform as you’d expect in the water.
The waves will
gives you the answer
By trying it out before you buy, you can get a feel for how the board paddles, catches the wave, accelerates, turns and responds to your surfing.
Your choice is no longer a guess, but a decision based on your actual experience.
